Expedition Pricing & payment
Pricing varies with trip type and length. Rates for individual expeditions are listed on the Expedition Calendar. Most trips are priced from $1375 to $1485. Some trips that extend longer than a week will be priced differently. Individuals extending for a second consecutive week on another trip receive a discount on their second week. Educational, charter, and service groups should contact us directly for pricing.

Repeat client and minor DISCOUNTS
Repeat clients always receive a discount over the single week regular trip price. See the table below for discounts for minor participants (age at time of expedition) and for trip extensions. Educators and employees of public zoos and aquaria should inquire for discount pricing - proof of employment will be required for discount status.

BOOKING HOTELS

Although hotel accommodations in Iquitos at the start or end of your trip are NOT INCLUDED in trip pricing, we will be happy to make reservation for you. A broad range of hotels are available depending on the level of comfort and service that you might desire. Hotels that we regularly use and recommend are the following. Credit cards are accepted at all of these hotels.

  • Budget: Hospedaje La Pascana - small, friendly, very secure and a great location with a courtyard garden, but no frills (no AC, hotwater or television in rooms). Wifi available in the lobby. Breakfasts not included, but available Monday through Saturday. A #1 choice of budget travelers to Iquitos, so reserve space early! Singles ~ $14.30, Doubles ~ $17.90, Triples ~ $21.50. Website: www.pascana.com/hospedaje.htm; reservations: reservas@pascana.com (email in English or Spanish).

  • Mid-Range: Victoria Regia Hotel - a very nice hotel located about 5 blocks from the central Plaza de Armas. All rooms with AC, hot water, safe, wifi and TV. Excellent complementary breakfast buffet included. Rack rates for rooms are ~ $70 singles and ~82 for doubles. If we book for you, we can get you somewhat better rates. Website: www.victoriaregiahotel.com; reservations: reservas@victoriaregiahotel.com. This is our choice for "best value hotel"!

  • Luxury: El Dorado Plaza Hotel - the top hotel in Iquitos, located on the Plaza de Armas in the very center of town. Large outdoor pool and bar, spacious lobby and all the amenities (but breakfast is not included in room rates). Website: www.grupo-dorado.com/dorado_plaza_hotel.htm. Rack rates start at $205, but you can obtain better rates by simply asking for a discounted rate (particularly if for more than one night) or by booking through us. If you want to be at the center of all the action in town, and have all the comforts as well, this could be the place for you.

  • Additional hotels can be easily found on-line, but before booking, we recommend that you check with us - some hotels are on notoriously noisy streets, or may be located inconveniently distant from the center of town. If you have a great experience at a hotel not listed above, let us know and we'll be happy to add it to the list!
