CLIENT COMMENTS

Everybody who has been to the Amazon has an Amazon Story! Various of our clients and expedition leaders have taken the time to send us their Amazon stories, and it is our pleasure to be able to share these stories with you. We hope that you will enjoy these candid accounts of Amazon trips. Trip accounts are un-edited (apart from minor typological and place-name corrections) and reflect the viewpoints and experiences of the authors. Perhaps you too will be inspired to share your Amazon story with us some day! We have also included a selection of short comments taken from client feedback over the years.

If you wish to contact any author(s), we will be happy to forward your email on to them for their reply, or they may have contact information listed on a website. To avoid spam, and protect privacy, we do not post people's email addresses on the web.

Cool Creatures, Hot Planet - by Marty Essen (Victor, Montana, USA - 2001 & 2006) When a vacation turns into a mission to visit all 7 continents and then to write an award-winning book about it all, you know it was a good vacation! An account of Marty and Deb Essen's July 2001 Amazon trip was first published in the travel section of a Montana newspaper, and then evolved into a book idea and lots of traveling and then writing and editing, editing and writing, and more editing! Beware of what your vacation may result in! Newly published in 2006, Cool Creatures Hot Planet won "The Best Books 2006 Book Award" for Travel/Essay - quite the accomplishment for a first time author! If you enjoy adventure and travel writing, you will charmed by the humorous, poignant, insightful and colorful descriptions of the wildlife, places and people the Essen's met in their travels. Before you take another vacation, you owe it to yourself to read this book !
